The latter option enticed me more. Thus, at the break of dawn on Monday morning, I diligently packed my camera into my backpack, hopped into my vehicle, and embarked on a northbound journey between Cairns and Port Douglas. Along this route lies a secluded beach that I have long promised myself to visit someday, requiring a treacherous descent down a steep embankment. As I departed from my home, the darkness enveloped the landscape, obscuring everything beyond the reach of my peripheral vision, except for the illuminated road ahead. Given the early hour, the roads were nearly vacant of fellow travelers, prompting me to activate my vehicle’s high beam lights and proceed cautiously along the coastal roadway.
In the early hours of the morning, I arrived at the location and parked my vehicle in a limited space alongside the road. Venturing further along the desolate shoreline, a solitary object caught my eye, prompting me to investigate its identity. The majority of the waste found on beaches originates from the local Australian population, rather than being carried in from overseas.
