This bus service conveniently connects to all resorts and hotels along Queens Road to Suva, allowing passengers to explore the captivating Coral Coast of Fiji. Furthermore, the bus makes stops at various towns along the way, making the journey both intriguing and cost-effective. The bus ride was an adventure in itself, with the scenic landscapes of Fiji unfolding before my eyes. Rolling hills covered in lush greenery, palm-fringed beaches, and crystal-clear waters mesmerized me as we made our way towards Suva. The warm tropical breeze brushed against my skin, carrying with it the scent of exotic flowers and the soothing sound of distant waves crashing onto the shore.
Finally, stepping off the bus in the heart of Suva, the capital city of Fiji, I was immediately captivated by its rich cultural heritage and diverse population. The city buzzes with energy and offers a fascinating blend of traditional Fijian customs and modern influences. Rows and rows of lively stalls offered an array of local fruits, vegetables, handcrafted items, and traditional clothing. It was a delightful sensory experience, as I strolled through the market, admiring the colorful displays and interacting with friendly vendors. The air was filled with the energetic melodies of traditional Fijian music, creating a lively ambiance that perfectly showcased the spirit of the island. Here, I was sampling local delicacies like fresh coconut water and fried taro root. The Colo-i-Suva Forest Park was a nature lover’s dream, with its lush rainforests, refreshing waterfalls, and well-marked trails.
The market proved to be an ideal destination for acquiring souvenirs and affordable food. Inside, I observed the Polynesian, Chinese, Indian, and Fijian vendors diligently selling an assortment of goods including fish, meat, vegetables, fruit, and even coconut oil – essentially catering to every household need in Fiji. The complex offers a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of the Fijian people.
As a history enthusiasts, a visit to the Government Building site offered me a chance to delve into Fiji’s colonial past. These buildings have witnessed significant milestones in the country’s journey towards independence and have been witness to the political, social, and cultural transformations that followed. Whether you are a history aficionado, an architecture enthusiast, or simply a curious traveler, the Government Building site in Suva is a must-visit destination. Immerse yourself in the unique blend of tradition and modernity that characterizes this landmark and appreciate the significant role it plays in Fiji’s cultural and political landscape. Sadly, some interior part of the build is being neglected.
The day ended with a sunset cruise along the Suva Harbor, where the golden hues of the sunset reflected off the tranquil waters.

Proceeding from there, we ventured to the esteemed village of Viseisei, steeped in legend as the historic landing site of the first Fijians. Our journey then brought us to Nadi, where we beheld the majestic grandeur of the largest Hindu Temple in the South Pacific. Lastly, our adventure culminated in the vibrant tapestry of sights and the warm hospitality of the vendors at the Nadi market. It was indeed a thrill to immerse ourselves in the colorful mosaic of the market, interacting with friendly locals and indulging in the diverse array of goods on offer. After the tour, I opted for a leisurely self-drive to Lautoka, seeking solace and relaxation in its tranquil environs.
